In 2004, Taiwan experienced its’ most crucial political unstable condition and at the same time facing its’ most serious economic crisis. It has been a struggle for Taiwan to escape disaster and not sink into political and economic turmoil. But we thank God for His guidance through this time of trouble, when the work of the Bible society nevertheless experienced growth.
Although we have walked along a tough road, Bible sales and fundraising seer passed our goals and objectives: we exceeded the Bible sales target by 1.04% and the fundraising target by 0.89 %. We realize that these achievements are due to the generosity of our supporters and many Bible loving Christians.
The Chinese Study Bible, which we have started to prepare form 2002 is now just finishing its’ first stage. The second stage: asking Chinese Bible scholars to prepare special articles for books are now undergoing. We anticipate this Study Bible will complete in the year 2007.
We launched several new Scripture products during this year. In May, we published the first Chinese Illustrated Bible, which was illustrated by the Spanish famous artist - José Peréz Montéro. Also we published big letter Chinese Union Version for the needs of senior Christians. In October we finish a Jeans Bible (small pocket size Bible), this edition is specially produced for young people.
Despite difficulties in this year, we nonetheless thank the Lord for the continuous blessing upon us to share the Good News of the Gospel of Christ with our 96% none Christian beloved people.
